Early Learning in Medicine Clinical Conference Otago (ECCO) is an annual conference held for 2nd and 3rd year medical students at the University of Otago Medical School. ECCO 2025 will be the 20th iteration hosted by the Otago University Medical Students’ Association (OUMSA). This year’s theme, “QUEST: Forge the Future”, aims to deepen the passion within medical students as they make a start into their exciting yet grueling careers, and promotes perseverance alongside curiosity into various specialties within the medical field. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from notable speakers, engage in information practical and presentation-type workshops, and experience a glamorous GALA at Larnach Castle with nibbles and entertainment provided!
ECCO Dates: April 12th and 13th
– Time: Each day the formal ECCO Conference runs from 9.30am – 3.30pm.
– Location: Refer to the attached timetable for timings and locations of speaker presentations, sponsorship booths, and workshops.
– Refer to attached descriptions of speakers and workshops. Attendees have the opportunity to listen to x2 Keynote speaker presentations, x1 Panel speaker presentation, and attend a total of x5 workshops. Morning tea and Lunch is provided on both days. ECCO GALA: April 12th – Time: 7pm-11pm
– Location: Larnach Castle
– Bus transportation is provided to and from Larnach Castle. Please meet at Otago Museum Lawn at 6.15pm for departure. Buses will start returning from Larnach from 10.30pm and the last bus will leave at 11pm.
