2024 ELM3 OUMSA 1 year + NZMSA 5 year Subscription

This Subscription is only for ELM3 Students who didn’t buy the 2 year OUMSA & 5 year NZMSA Subscription in 2023.

This year we have added provision of a 1-year Subscription (instead of 2 years) for those ELM3s who missed out on OUMSA benefits in 2023.  Not only will you get to enjoy the great benefits of being an OUMSA member for 1 year, you’ll also get membership to the New Zealand Medical Students’ Association (NZMSA) for your 5 years at Medical School.

Otago University Medical Student’s Association (OUMSA)

OUMSA is the student association for medical students, run by an executive and council consisting of medical students elected by medical students. We operate independently from the rest of the University. OUMSA works with the Dunedin School of Medicine to help you transition from being a medical student to entering the workforce.

OUMSA members enjoy benefits such as:

• Invitations to OUMSA social events such as Wine and Cheese and Med Ball
• Access to advocacy, student welfare and mentoring programmes

This membership also entitles you to a 5-year membership with both New Zealand Medical Students’ Association (NZMSA).

NZMSA has recently persuaded the government to extend student loan limits (previously a maximum of 7 years) for postgraduate medical students which has meant that they are able to finish their medical degrees without having to find their own finance to pay for their final year(s).
