Knitting for NICU
We are an OUMSA Charity Group working to provide the Dunedin Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with handmade knitted booties and jumpers in order to give back to the Dunedin Community that supports us as medical students.
Students have fundraised to buy materials at local rugby games at the stadium and have accepted donations of wool and materials.
We have found that providing this support to the parents of babies in NICU puts a smile on their faces and helps to encourage them during this stressful time.
We also aim to introduce medical students to the relaxing, stress reducing hobby of knitting by providing the resources and support they need to learn and improve their knitting skills.
