ECCO is an annual conference held for our Years 2-3 med students, filled with hands-on workshops like suturing and ED, as well as getting to hear from doctors and practitioners from all across New Zealand, right at our very own Otago campus!

Our theme for ECCO 2026 is Poipoia – “Poipoia te kākano, kia puāwai” (Nurture the seed so it may bloom). This theme captures our commitment to cultivating the curiosity, resilience, and compassion that allow students to flourish as healthcare professionals.

This year, ECCO will be held at

📍Otago University campus

Throughout the weekend, students will participate in high-quality, hands-on workshops and inspiring sessions led by clinicians and experts in the medical field. These experiences help them grow from eager learners into confident practitioners.
