On Friday 19th August, MSGA-Dunedin, in association with the Indian Student’s Association, was lucky enough to host Dr Sujit, the founder of the Institute for Indian Mother and Child. His talk was inspiring, showing how one determined man can raise millions of dollars to provide health care, education, micro-financing and housing to more than 300,000 people per year living in the rural area of India around Kolkata. Dr Sujit’s passion for helping people and making positive social change shone through his story. IIMC is supported mostly through volunteers, and they accept around 40 medical students each month, either on elective or during summer holidays.
